En lo alto del acantilado se encuentra una ciudadela, a la que se llega en telef\u00e9rico o por una larga escalera de m\u00e1s de cuatrocientos escalones. Dinant es la ciudad natal de Adolphe Sax, que invent\u00f3 el saxof\u00f3n en la d\u00e9cada de 1840, y saxofones gigantes de colores decoran el puente sobre el r\u00edo.
