En las noches m\u00e1s fr\u00edas de Banff las temperaturas pueden bajar de los 30 grados bajo cero, y el hielo se agrieta con fuertes estruendos. Alrededor del lago se alzan las cumbres nevadas de la sierra Fairholme.
