Lo alimenta el glaciar Bow, que cuelga del campo de hielo Wapta, y en \u00e9l nace el r\u00edo Bow, que pasa por Banff y Calgary camino de las praderas. Es uno de los lagos m\u00e1s grandes del Parque Nacional Banff y suele estar helado hasta junio.
