Por respeto a su abuelo Ieyasu, venerado en el cercano Toshogu, Iemitsu pidi\u00f3 que su propio lugar de descanso fuera menos grandioso, pero sus pabellones y puertas siguen cubiertos de laca negra, pan de oro y tallas de vivos colores. Junto con el Toshogu y el santuario Futarasan es Patrimonio de la Humanidad.
