Cada febrero el parque se llena de enormes esculturas de nieve y hielo para el Festival de la Nieve de Sapporo, uno de los mayores eventos de invierno de Jap\u00f3n. En el extremo este del parque est\u00e1 la torre de televisi\u00f3n de Sapporo, construida en 1957.
