Se encendi\u00f3 por primera vez en 1836, y su luz brill\u00f3 desde aqu\u00ed hasta 1955, cuando pas\u00f3 a una nueva torre cercana. La casa cuadrada de madera, con la linterna en el centro del tejado, era tambi\u00e9n la vivienda de los fareros, y una sola familia, los Cantwell, cuid\u00f3 la luz durante unos 150 a\u00f1os. Restaurado para verse como en la d\u00e9cada de 1830, hoy es un museo.
