Equipos daneses empezaron a excavar aqu\u00ed en 1954 y encontraron los restos de Dilmun, cuyos comerciantes intercambiaban cobre, perlas y d\u00e1tiles entre Mesopotamia y el valle del Indo. Antiguos textos de Mesopotamia describen Dilmun como una tierra pura por donde sale el sol.
