Seg\u00fan la leyenda, en el siglo VIII Gur\u00fa Rinpoche, que llev\u00f3 el budismo a But\u00e1n, vol\u00f3 hasta aqu\u00ed a lomos de una tigresa y medit\u00f3 en una cueva de la roca. El templo alrededor de la cueva se construy\u00f3 en 1692. Un incendio destruy\u00f3 gran parte en 1998, y se reconstruy\u00f3 con cuidado al estilo antiguo.
