Aqu\u00ed vive gente desde hace m\u00e1s de mil a\u00f1os. Cuando el explorador Antonio Pigafetta la visit\u00f3 en 1521 con la expedici\u00f3n de Magallanes, describi\u00f3 una gran ciudad construida sobre el agua. Hoy viven en sus casas unas diez mil personas, con electricidad y agua corriente.
