Se construy\u00f3 hacia 1850 con postes y tablas de teca del antiguo palacio real, cuando la capital se traslad\u00f3 de Amarapura a Mandalay, y lleva el nombre del alcalde que lo mand\u00f3 hacer. Se considera el puente peatonal de teca m\u00e1s antiguo y largo del mundo.
