La gente del lugar lo vio como un peque\u00f1o milagro, y desde entonces el altar es un sitio de oraci\u00f3n. Los visitantes trepan por bloques de lava fr\u00eda para llegar a \u00e9l y dejan flores, velas y peque\u00f1as ofrendas. El arco en ruinas que lo cubre, de la misma piedra gris que los muros, todav\u00eda lo enmarca como antes de 1944.
