Se consideraba escultor m\u00e1s que pintor, y aun as\u00ed cubri\u00f3 m\u00e1s de 500 metros cuadrados con escenas del G\u00e9nesis, de la Creaci\u00f3n de Ad\u00e1n a la historia de No\u00e9, rodeadas de profetas y sibilas. En esta capilla se re\u00fanen los cardenales en c\u00f3nclave para elegir al nuevo papa, y sale humo blanco cuando lo han elegido. Una larga restauraci\u00f3n entre 1980 y 1994 recuper\u00f3 los colores vivos originales.
