Lo dise\u00f1\u00f3 el arquitecto Ragnar \u00d6stberg y se construy\u00f3 entre 1911 y 1923 con unos ocho millones de ladrillos de color rojo oscuro. Su torre, de 106 metros, est\u00e1 coronada por tres coronas doradas, s\u00edmbolo de Suecia. Cada diciembre se celebra el banquete de los Premios Nobel en su Sal\u00f3n Azul, que en realidad no es azul: al arquitecto le gust\u00f3 tanto el ladrillo visto que lo dej\u00f3 sin pintar. Se puede subir a la torre para ver el casco antiguo.
