Tiene bah\u00edas a ambos lados, de modo que hay mar al norte y al sur. En la isla no hay coches: la gente camina, va en bicicleta o en barco. En diciembre de 2004 el tsunami del oc\u00e9ano \u00cdndico atraves\u00f3 esta franja y destruy\u00f3 gran parte de la aldea, que se reconstruy\u00f3 en los a\u00f1os siguientes.
