Sus murallas actuales son sobre todo de la \u00e9poca veneciana, desde el siglo XV, y los austriacos las reconstruyeron en el siglo XIX. Dentro hay un peque\u00f1o museo de historia mar\u00edtima y una biblioteca de libros y mapas antiguos, y su terraza ofrece una amplia vista de la costa y de la isla de Sveti Nikola. En verano la Ciudadela sirve de escenario a un festival de teatro.
