Una luz gu\u00eda aqu\u00ed a los barcos desde 1848, lo que la convierte en la estaci\u00f3n de faro m\u00e1s antigua de Sri Lanka, pero la primera torre se quem\u00f3 en 1934 y la actual, blanca y de 26,5 metros, se construy\u00f3 en 1939.
