Aqu\u00ed estaba el famoso \u00c1rbol del Tener\u00e9, una acacia que se dec\u00eda era el \u00e1rbol m\u00e1s aislado de la Tierra, solo en cientos de kil\u00f3metros a la redonda; un cami\u00f3n lo derrib\u00f3 en 1973 y hoy se conserva en el museo nacional de Niamey. Unos pocos \u00e1rboles solitarios m\u00e1s, como este, todav\u00eda gu\u00edan a los viajeros por la arena.
