Terms of Use

Last updated: October 5, 2026

These terms apply to your use of Jigsaw Earth (“the site”, “we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to them. They’re written to be read, so please take a couple of minutes.

1. Using the site

Jigsaw Earth is free for personal, non-commercial use. You don’t need an account. If you choose to sign in to save your progress, keep access to your email account private, because anyone who can read your sign-in codes can open your Jigsaw Earth account. You can delete your account at any time on the Your account page. Please don’t misuse the site – for example by trying to break or overload it, getting around its technical limits, or copying its content in bulk with automated tools.

2. Our content

The design, code and text of Jigsaw Earth belong to us. Puzzle photos belong to their photographers and are used under the licences named on each puzzle; those licences, not these terms, decide how you may reuse a photo. The flag pictures in the quizzes come from the open-source flag-icons project (MIT licence), and the map outlines from Natural Earth (public domain). Sharing a link to a puzzle or a quiz result is always welcome.

3. Globe Coins and leaderboards

Globe Coins are points you earn by playing puzzles and quizzes, by inviting friends and, when the shop offers it, by watching a short video. They have no money value: they can’t be bought, sold, exchanged or paid out, and they can only be spent on extras inside Jigsaw Earth. We may change what coins earn and what things cost, and coins kept only in your browser are lost if its data is cleared. Inviting friends earns coins only when a new player really plays; we may cancel coins earned with fake invites or several devices of your own. Every puzzle stays free to play without coins.

The leaderboards are for fun and fair play. Please don’t use scripts, several accounts or other tricks to raise your scores. We may remove results that look automated or impossible, and we may change the boards or how they are scored.

4. Copyright concerns

If you believe a photo on Jigsaw Earth infringes your copyright, email support@jigsawearth.com with the page address, the work concerned and how we can reach you. We will look into it promptly and remove material where appropriate.

5. Advertising and other sites

Some pages may show advertising, and the site links to other websites, such as photographers’ pages. We aren’t responsible for the content or practices of other websites.

6. No guarantees

We work hard to keep Jigsaw Earth running smoothly, but it is provided “as is”. Puzzles, features or the site itself may change or be unavailable at times, and saved puzzles, progress and Globe Coins kept in your browser can be lost if your browser data is cleared. The quizzes are for fun and learning: we check the answers carefully, but names, borders and capitals change over time and some are disputed. The quizzes follow the 193 member states of the United Nations, its two observer states and Greenland. If you spot a mistake, please tell us.

7. Limitation of liability

As far as the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can’t be excluded.

8. Children

Jigsaw Earth is a general-audience site. Children under 13 should use it with a parent or guardian.

9. Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continuing to use the site means you accept it.
