About Rocky Shore at Dusk, Maui

Maui is known as the Valley Isle, because it was formed by two volcanoes joined by a low isthmus: the old West Maui Mountains and the huge Haleakalā. Along its southern coast, black lava rock meets small beaches of pale sand. This photo was taken with a long exposure, which keeps the camera's shutter open for several seconds, so the moving waves blur into a soft, misty layer around the rocks.

Puzzle tip: the dark rocks and the palm trees are the clearest pieces; the misty sea is best sorted by its shades of grey and blue.
