Get the Jigsaw Earth app

Jigsaw Earth works as an app on your phone, tablet or computer. Add it to your home screen and it opens full screen with one tap, like any other app. It is free, there is nothing to download from an app store, and it takes up very little space.

What you get

One tap from your home screen – the Jigsaw Earth globe sits next to your other apps.
Full screen – no address bar, so the puzzle gets the whole screen.
Play offline – puzzles you have already opened can be played again without an internet connection, on a plane or on the underground.
The same game – the same puzzles, Daily, quizzes, passport and Globe Coins as on the website.

iPhone and iPad

Open jigsawearth.com in Safari.
Tap the Share button (a square with an arrow pointing up). On newer iPhones it is in the ••• menu next to the address bar; on older ones it is at the bottom of the screen.
Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen. If you don’t see it, tap View More first.
Tap Add. The Jigsaw Earth icon appears on your home screen.

Apple doesn’t let websites show their own install button on iPhone and iPad, so the Share menu is the only way. In Chrome on iPhone it works the same, from the Share button in the address bar.

Android

Open jigsawearth.com in Chrome.
Tap Install the app on this page, or open Chrome’s ⋮ menu and choose Install app or Add to Home screen.
Confirm with Install.

Samsung Internet and Edge work the same way, from their own menu.

Computer

In Chrome or Edge, click Install the app on this page, or the install icon at the right end of the address bar. Jigsaw Earth then opens in its own window and gets a shortcut in your Start menu, Dock or app list. In Safari on a Mac, choose File → Add to Dock.

Questions

Is it free? Yes. The app is the same Jigsaw Earth as the website, with the same free puzzles.

How much space does it take? Very little. Only pages and photos you have opened recently are kept, and older ones are cleared automatically.

Will my progress be there? On Android and on a computer, the app shares your passport, coins and saved puzzles with the browser. On iPhone and iPad, the app keeps its own copy, separate from Safari, so sign in with your email to have the same progress in both.

How do I remove it? Like any other app: press and hold the icon and choose Remove App (iPhone) or Uninstall (Android). On a computer, open the app’s menu and choose Uninstall.
