About Dinant on the Meuse

Dinant is a small town in the Belgian region of Wallonia, squeezed between the Meuse River and a tall limestone cliff. A citadel sits on top of the cliff, reached by a cable car or a long stairway of more than four hundred steps. Dinant is the birthplace of Adolphe Sax, who invented the saxophone in the 1840s, and giant colourful saxophones decorate the bridge over the river. The town is also known for couques de Dinant, very hard honey biscuits baked in carved wooden moulds.

Puzzle tip: the colourful houses along the water are the easiest part; the grey cliff above them needs more patience.
