About Palais Longchamp, Marseille

The Palais Longchamp was built in the 1860s to celebrate the arrival of fresh water in Marseille through a new canal from the River Durance, which ended years of drought and disease. At its centre, a monumental fountain shows a goddess on a chariot drawn by bulls, with water cascading below. Its two wings house the city's Museum of Fine Arts and its Natural History Museum.

Puzzle tip: the fountain and the curved colonnades make strong shapes; the blue sky comes last.
