About Cathedral of São Tomé

The Cathedral of Our Lady of Grace in São Tomé, the small capital of the country, was first built in the 16th century, which makes it one of the oldest churches in Africa south of the Sahara. It has been rebuilt several times since, and its white front with two towers faces a quiet square near the presidential palace. Inside, the walls are decorated with blue and white Portuguese tiles. The country became independent from Portugal in 1975, and Portuguese is still its official language. This photo shows the cathedral's white facade under a blue sky.

Puzzle tip: start with the two white towers and the doors, then the palm trees, and the sky and the street last.
