About Copacabana Promenade from Above

The promenade of Copacabana runs for four kilometres beside the beach along Avenida Atlântica. Its famous wavy pattern is made of small black and white stones laid by hand, in the Portuguese style known as calçada portuguesa. The first waves were laid in the early 20th century, inspired by a square in Lisbon, and the landscape designer Roberto Burle Marx widened and redesigned the seafront in the 1970s. From above, it looks like a giant ribbon between the city and the sand.

Puzzle tip: the black and white waves are the heart of the picture, so match their curves; the palm trees and the road come next.
