About Echidna on the Forest Floor

The short-beaked echidna is one of the very few mammals in the world that lay eggs; its only close relatives are the platypus and a few echidnas of New Guinea. It is covered in sharp spines and uses its long, sticky tongue to catch ants and termites. The baby, called a puggle, hatches from a soft egg and grows inside its mother's pouch until its spines begin to appear.

Puzzle tip: the pale spines are the main shape; the dark leaf litter needs patience.
