About Notre-Dame de la Garde, Marseille

Notre-Dame de la Garde is a basilica built in the 19th century on the highest hill in Marseille, on the site of an old fort and an even older chapel. Its bell tower is crowned by a huge gilded statue of the Virgin and Child that can be seen from far out at sea, and the people of Marseille simply call it the Bonne Mère, the Good Mother. Sailors and fishermen have long trusted it to watch over them.

Puzzle tip: the pale stone walls and the golden statue are the easiest parts; the wide blue sky needs sorting by shape.
