About Old Weygand Bridge, Sassandra

Sassandra is a small port town in southwestern Ivory Coast, where the Sassandra River reaches the Atlantic Ocean. Portuguese sailors named the river after Saint Andrew in the 15th century, and in colonial times timber and other goods were shipped from here. The Weygand Bridge, a concrete arch bridge built in the 1940s, still carries the road across the river, its arches now a rusty red against the brown water. Around it the river is lined with green forest. This photo shows the bridge from the side.

Puzzle tip: start with the red arches and their railings, then the green trees behind, and the brown river and the sky last.
