About The Old Town of Bonifacio from the Sea

Bonifacio was founded in the ninth century and was ruled for centuries by the Italian city of Genoa, which made it a fortified outpost guarding the strait between Corsica and Sardinia. Its citadel, called the Haute Ville or upper town, is still surrounded by walls and bastions, and its narrow streets are full of old houses with tall stairs. Boat trips from the harbour run along the cliffs and into sea caves. This photo, taken from the sea, shows the whole old town stretched along the top of the cliffs, with an old round tower at one end.

Puzzle tip: start with the houses and the round tower on top, then the striped white cliffs, and finish with the sea and the blue sky.
