About The Sanctuaries of Rocamadour

The sanctuaries of Rocamadour cling to the cliff on a narrow ledge, some of their walls built straight against the rock. They include the Basilica of Saint-Sauveur and several small chapels around a little square, reached from the village by a staircase of over two hundred steps or by a lift cut through the rock. Above them, a path lined with the Stations of the Cross zigzags up to the castle. The cliff, the forests and the deep valley make the village seem to hang in the air. This view from the side shows the sanctuaries and houses against the wooded canyon.

Puzzle tip: start with the tall church building in the middle, then the houses below, and finish with the cliff and the green forest.
