About Walls and Towers of Arad Fort

Bahrain is an archipelago of more than thirty islands in the Persian Gulf, and its forts once guarded the sea routes and the pearl beds around them. For centuries pearl diving was the main source of the islands' wealth, until cultured pearls from Japan and the discovery of oil in 1932 changed the economy. Arad Fort, seen here from another side, watched over the bay between Muharraq and the main island. Its sand-coloured walls of coral stone blend into the land around them.

Puzzle tip: the dark doorway in the middle of the wall is a good start; follow the top of the wall from there to each tower.
