Ecuador Puzzles

Ecuador takes its name from the equator, which crosses the country just north of its capital, Quito. It combines the Andes, the Amazon, the Pacific coast and the Galápagos Islands. Our Ecuador puzzles show Andean volcanoes, a crater lake and the wildlife of the Galápagos.

About Ecuador

The Galápagos Islands, about 1,000 kilometres out in the Pacific, are famous for animals found nowhere else: giant tortoises, after which the islands are named, blue-footed boobies that dance to find a mate, and marine iguanas. Charles Darwin's visit in 1835 helped inspire his ideas about evolution. On Bartolomé Island, a volcanic viewpoint looks over two curved bays and a pointed rock.

On the mainland, the snow-capped cone of Cotopaxi is one of the highest active volcanoes in the world, and Quilotoa is a volcanic crater filled with a lake of emerald green water.
