The Maldives is a country of about 1,200 small coral islands in the Indian Ocean, south-west of India and Sri Lanka. Our Maldives puzzles show its clear lagoons, its wooden walkways and the thatched villas built on stilts above the water.

The islands are grouped into 26 rings of coral called atolls; in fact, the English word "atoll" comes from the Maldivian language, Dhivehi. On average the land rises only about a metre and a half above the sea, which makes the Maldives the lowest country on Earth. Many resorts each have an island to themselves, and the reefs around them are home to manta rays, turtles, reef sharks and whale sharks.
Each puzzle has a short text about the place, so you can discover a little more about these islands while you put the pieces together.
