About Lifeguard Tower at Kapalua Beach, Maui

Kapalua Beach is a crescent of golden sand on Maui's northwest coast, held between two arms of old lava rock that shelter it from the open ocean. Its calm, clear water and the reef along its edges make it a favourite spot for swimming and snorkelling, and in 1991 it was named the best beach in the United States in a well-known national ranking. Lifeguards watch over the beach from towers like this one.

Puzzle tip: the yellow tower is the landmark; the sand and the sea come next.
