About Athabasca Glacier, Columbia Icefield

The Athabasca Glacier is one of six main tongues of ice flowing from the Columbia Icefield, the largest icefield in the Rocky Mountains. It lies beside the Icefields Parkway and is one of the most visited glaciers in North America. Meltwater from the icefield flows to three oceans: the Pacific, the Atlantic and the Arctic. The glacier has retreated more than 1.5 kilometres since the late nineteenth century, and markers along the trail show where its edge once stood. This photo shows the glacier between rocky mountains under a bright sky.

Puzzle tip: start with the white ice of the glacier, then the grey rock walls, and finish with the sky.
