About Sunrise over Bow Lake

Photographers come to Bow Lake before dawn, when the first sun turns the peaks orange while the valley is still in shadow. On the shore stands Num-Ti-Jah Lodge, with its red roof, built by the mountain guide and outfitter Jimmy Simpson, who first camped here in the 1890s. The lodge's name comes from a Stoney word for the pine marten. In calm weather the lake reflects every detail of the mountains. In this photo the glowing peak and the sky are mirrored in the still, dark water.

Puzzle tip: start with the glowing peak and its reflection, then the dark slopes, and finish with the water.
