About Hoodoos of Writing-on-Stone, Alberta

Writing-on-Stone Provincial Park, known in Blackfoot as Áísínai'pi, lies along the Milk River near the border with Montana. Its sandstone has been carved by wind and water into hoodoos, strange mushroom-shaped pillars and towers. For thousands of years the Blackfoot people have come here and carved and painted images on the rock walls, making it one of the largest collections of rock art on the Great Plains. The park became a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2019. In this photo pale hoodoos stand among grass and shrubs.

Puzzle tip: start with the shapes of the hoodoos, then the grass and shrubs, and finish with the sky.
