About this place ↓

About Horseshoe Falls from Above, Niagara Falls

The Horseshoe Falls, the largest of the three waterfalls of Niagara, curve for about 670 metres along the border between Ontario and New York, and most of the curve lies on the Canadian side. About 90 percent of the water of the Niagara River pours over them, although at night and outside the tourist season much of the river is sent to power stations instead. Boats have carried visitors into the mist at the foot of the falls since 1846, and over the years daredevils have crossed the gorge on tightropes and gone over the falls in barrels. In this photo from above, a small boat sails into the spray below the curving falls.

Puzzle tip: begin with the white curve of the falls and the small boat, then the green banks, and finish with the river and the sky.
