About Wind Tower in Al Fahidi, Dubai

Before air conditioning, the houses of old Dubai were cooled by wind towers, or barjeel: tall square towers open on all four sides that catch the breeze and send it down into the rooms below. Many can still be seen in the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, built by merchants in the late 19th century, where narrow lanes wind between coral-stone houses that are now museums, galleries and cafés.

Puzzle tip: the tower and the string lights make strong lines; the evening sky comes last.
