About Petra Treasury Facade

Al-Khazneh, known as the Treasury, was carved straight into a rose-red sandstone cliff by the Nabataeans around 2,000 years ago, probably as a royal tomb. It is the first great monument visitors see as they come out of the Siq, the narrow gorge leading into the ancient city of Petra in Jordan. Its nickname comes from a legend that treasure was hidden in the urn at the top.

Puzzle tip: the columns, statues and doorway give strong straight lines; the rough rock around the facade comes last.
