About Copacabana Beach from Above

Copacabana was a quiet fishing area until a tunnel through the hills linked it to the centre of Rio de Janeiro in 1892. Within a few decades it had become one of the most famous beaches in the world, lined with hotels and apartment blocks. Its seafront avenue, Avenida Atlântica, closes to traffic on Sundays so that people can walk, cycle and skate along it.

Puzzle tip: the white sand and the row of buildings make clear bands; the green hill and the sea come next.
