About A Flowery Street in Riquewihr

Riquewihr is a walled wine village in Alsace, surrounded by vineyards on the slopes of the Vosges. It came through the Second World War almost untouched, so its streets look much as they did in the sixteenth century, with painted houses, carved wooden balconies and old shop signs of wrought iron. Its tall gate tower, the Dolder, was built in 1291. Riquewihr is famous for its Riesling wine, and its cellars and wine shops line the main street. In this photo a cobbled lane passes a pink house with flower boxes and potted plants by its door.

Puzzle tip: start with the pink house and the flowers, then the other houses down the street, and finish with the cobblestones.
