About Ålesund from Mount Aksla

Ålesund is a fishing town spread across several islands on Norway's west coast. In 1904 a fire destroyed most of its wooden houses in a single night, and the town was rebuilt in stone in just a few years, in the Art Nouveau style of the time, with turrets, spires and decorated façades. The German emperor Wilhelm II, who often holidayed in Norway, sent ships with supplies to help. Today 418 steps climb from the town park to the viewpoint on Mount Aksla.

Puzzle tip: the blue water between the islands is a good place to start; the town's rooftops are best sorted by colour.
