Norway is a long, mountainous country on the western edge of Scandinavia, famous for its deep fjords and the midnight sun. Our Norway puzzles show its fjords and mountains, the old wooden wharves of Bergen and Trondheim, and the sights of Oslo, the capital.

Norwegian Fjord Landscape
The fjords were carved by glaciers during the ice ages and later flooded by the sea, creating narrow arms of water between steep cliffs. In Oslo you can piece together the brick City Hall, where the Nobel Peace Prize is presented every December, the Royal Palace, the medieval Akershus Fortress and the parliament building, the Storting.
The Oslo Opera House slopes down into the fjord like a white glacier, and people are free to walk on its roof. Vigeland Park is filled with more than two hundred sculptures by Gustav Vigeland, showing people of every age.
On the west coast, the Geirangerfjord winds between waterfalls, Bryggen in Bergen recalls the merchants of the Hanseatic League, and Ålesund was rebuilt in Art Nouveau style after a great fire in 1904. Further north lie the glacier of Svartisen and fjords where the sun stays below the horizon for weeks in winter, when the northern lights dance over Tromsø and the Lofoten Islands, where red fishermen's cabins line the shore near Reine.
