About Svolvær in Winter, Lofoten

Svolvær is the largest town in Lofoten and the main harbour of the islands, where the coastal ships of Hurtigruten call every day. It grew up around the winter cod fishery, and in early spring its quays and hillsides are still covered with wooden racks hung with drying fish. Above the town rises a rock pinnacle called Svolværgeita, the Svolvær Goat, whose two horns tempt climbers to jump from one to the other. In this photo snow covers the fish racks and the shore, while a white mountain ridge rises above the calm harbour under a clear sky.

Puzzle tip: start with the snowy mountain ridge, then the fish racks and the houses, and finish with the water and the sky.
