About Northern Lights over the Mountains of Nusfjord, Lofoten

Bright green arcs of aurora stretch over the mountains and the winding road near Nusfjord, on the island of Flakstadøya in the Lofoten archipelago. Nusfjord is one of the oldest and best-preserved fishing villages in Norway, and its wooden cabins and warehouses on the harbour are protected as a cultural heritage site. Lofoten lies more than 150 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle, so from late autumn to early spring the nights are long enough to watch the aurora for hours.

Puzzle tip: the road and the dark hills at the bottom are the easiest parts; the green arcs and the starry sky come last.
