About this place ↓

About Reine from Reinebringen, Lofoten

Above Reine rises the mountain Reinebringen, about four hundred and fifty metres high. For years the path up was steep and dangerous, but between 2016 and 2019 Nepalese Sherpas built a stone staircase of more than fifteen hundred steps, and now thousands of hikers climb it every summer for one of the most famous views in Norway. From the top you see Reine's islands, its bridges and the fjords cutting between the mountains. In this photo the village and its winding road lie far below on islands in a deep blue bay, with green slopes in the foreground.

Puzzle tip: start with the village and its islands, then the road and the green slopes, and finish with the blue water and the far mountains.
