About Yellow Warehouses of Nusfjord, Lofoten

The yellow warehouses at the water's edge in Nusfjord were used to salt and store fish and to land the catch straight from the boats. Many of the buildings stand on wooden posts over the sea, so boats could tie up beside them. In the old days most of the fishermen did not live here but came from all along the coast each winter and rented a bunk in the cabins. In autumn, rain and mist often roll in from the sea, and the mountains around the bay disappear into the clouds. In this photo the ochre-yellow buildings and their quay stand by the grey water under misty mountains and autumn trees.

Puzzle tip: start with the yellow buildings and the quay, then the white house behind, and finish with the water and the misty mountains.
