About Bryggen Wharf, Bergen

Bryggen is the old wharf of Bergen, a row of colourful wooden houses with pointed gables facing the harbour. From the 14th to the 16th century it was the base of German merchants of the Hanseatic League, who traded dried fish from northern Norway for grain and goods from across Europe. Fires have struck Bryggen many times, but it was always rebuilt in the old way, and today it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Bergen is also known as one of the rainiest cities in Europe.

Puzzle tip: the colourful wooden fronts are the heart of the picture, so sort them by colour; the boats and the water come next.
