About Colourful Houses along the Lauch, Colmar

Colmar is surrounded by vineyards and calls itself the capital of Alsace wine, the starting point of a wine route that winds through dozens of villages along the foot of the Vosges mountains. The city escaped serious damage in both world wars, so its old centre has kept hundreds of houses from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Every December its squares fill with Christmas markets. In this photo blue, pink and white houses with balconies and window boxes rise straight from the water of the Lauch, and a terrace with tables sits at the canal's edge.

Puzzle tip: start with the blue house and the pink walls, then the balconies and flowers, and finish with the dark water and the sky.
