About Diamond Head from Waikiki Beach

Diamond Head, called Lēʻahi in Hawaiian, is a volcanic tuff cone formed in a single short eruption about 300,000 years ago. British sailors in the 19th century gave it its English name after mistaking the shiny calcite crystals in its rocks for diamonds. A steep trail climbs to the rim of the crater, with views over Waikiki and the Pacific.

Puzzle tip: the ridges of the crater make strong lines; the calm water and the sky come last.
